I used to like Kate and Sonny, but her attitude lately is getting on my last nerve.

She has the nerve to lecture Lulu (not that I disagree with everything she said), after the way she is behaving?

She said something today like, "I'm trying to remember if I was that selfish (or maybe self-absorbed) when it came to my boyfriend when I was her age..."

Um... Kate? Have you looked at your behavior recently?

How is your "concern" for Sonny after Michael's shooting not been exactly the same?

You yelled at Michael's mother, who was rightly irked with Sonny.

Carly... who's son was just shot. But, I guess that doesn't matter, if someone is going to hurt "sensitive" Sonny. But, it's okay for Sonny to lash out at Jason?

Shut up Kate!

And then...

Why would you lose the guards if your kid is going to be there? Stupid idea.

All the characters, Sonny, Carly, Jason, keep moaning about how their choices led to this, with others trying to comfort them. But I just keep thinking damn straight.

Quit saying out loud just so others can "say it ain't so"

Your in the mob, dumbass. Your lifestyle has led to lifetime guards, kidnapping, shootings, guns and violence for your kids. You can start feeling bad about it now, but it's not like you couldn't see this coming.

Just so we're all clear, I think Lulu is being a little self-absorbed in her "mission" to keep Johnny out of trouble. But, looking at Sonny's past behavior, I think she's somewhat justified... remember the padded cell anyone?

The problem is with Kate coming down on Lulu.

If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, I dont know what is!

Everything felt so disjointed for me this week.
I was on a business trip for most of the week, so I came home to my Tivo-ed episodes and I feel like I missed some really important scenes.
I watched Passions in college... it was on during lunch... so I'm used to scenes dragging out FOREVER.
Here lately on GH, every thing seems like it has moved so quickly if you blink you might miss it.
The TMK has been built up and teased for months and the whole Diego thing was set in motion and wrapped up, in what, a week? That seems awfully quick for soap time.
Sometimes they drop a potential line because of various reasons, like they want to go in a different direction or it just isn't working out. Like when they dropped the whole Carly accusing Jax of cheating on her with Irina when he was raped by the lady. That was gross and I was glad when they quit doing that. The Powers that Be would never have even hinted at such a thing if the situations had been reversed.

Anyway. Everything just seems to be moving quickly and weirdly.
I don't remember Diego kind of falling and hanging himself. It's possible I wasn't paying attention when that happened, but only one scene of the text message killer resolution? Seems strange.

Then, Nik saves Nadine and there is no scene where she hugs/thanks him? Next thing you know he's chatting away with the dead Emily? Okaaaaaaay.
Speaking of Nik, I'm sick of the whole I'll die for Emily thing. You have a son, Nik, give it up already and have the stupid surgery.

Sonny continues to be annoying.
Kate - so Sonny cheated on you in the past and you were okay with that? Grow a backbone, honey. Once a cheater, always a cheater. He's SO not worth it.
Alexis and Jerry continue to be kind of cute. But still, I want to take Alexis aside and tell her maybe she is the one who needs some sessions with Lainey to discuss this whole obsession she has with bad boys.

The annoying Miss Leyla reappeared for a few scenes this week. Pity.

Even though I saw all the episodes from this week, I feel like I missed a lot of it. So, I guess that's all I have to say this week.

Another week of GH...

Sonny - I hate the way he talks to other people. He is such a rude, little jerk. I see very little redeeming value in his character. Since I went on a *huge* Sonny rant last week, I'll spare you this week, but seriously he is not a nice person. He talks down to everyone. I guess they really want to write a mob war and that's why he's being so rude to Claudia? What exactly did she do to him? Yes, she stepped over Kate's body, but he doesn't know that. Based on what he knows, she's 1) The daughter of his rival 2) Slept with him 3) Interested in sleeping with him again 4) A strong, powerful woman (ahh... now I get it) I forgot Sonny likes his women weak and insecure.

Kate - Yes, I know Kate was supposed to be strong, no-nonsense, but it seems like Sonny's abusive behavior has beaten that out of her fairly quickly. Too bad she had so much potential and I liked them a lot initially. Plus, (*possible spoiler, although mostly just a guess on my part*) she's probably keeping a secret from him about some child she was pregant with when she ran away. And lord knows, men on this show are all about devotion and undying love until one little bump in the road and then they never forgive their women. Sonny and Carly broke up because of the whole Kristina thing. Will Kate and Sonny break up over the new mysterious "Olivia" thing? Although I've heard rumors that they'll get married K&S, so if that's true she should probably tell him about their love child before then.

Olivia - A new woman around the block of young kids would be nice. There are too many guys and they all seem to be chasing Lulu. Lord knows I love the girl, but give her something else to do besides juggle all the boys. It's stupid and boring. Didn't we already see this? Maybe Olivia would be some good competition. Or maybe a friend? Lulu could use a girl friend her own age.

Lulu - You know what I'd really like to see for Lulu? A good old-fashioned adventure a la Luke. Give her a treasure hunt or something. She and Johnny (who I love together and just love Johnny in general) can go off and have a good old fashioned romantic adventure. No stupid mob wars. Just fun and entertaining. Lulu and Johnny love the danger and they could really have fun with a storyline like that.

Claudia - I like this girl and I would like to see her develop relationships with her brothers and others around Port Charles. I would like to see her and Lulu on good terms. She has so much potential. If GH makes her one of their weak, whiny women I might just cry.

Spinelli/Maxie - I like them together. I like the way their friendship is developing. I don't go on discussion boards too often, so do they have a name yet? Spixie and Maxelli are my favorite ideas for them. It would be great to see somebody actually appreciate the Jackal rather than just use him and get impatient with him when he acts like himself (I'm looking at you Jason and Lulu)

Text Message Killer - You know what I'd like to see here? Instead of Jason rushing in to save the day (which he will, poor Lucky can't ever catch a break and play the hero can he?) I would like to see Jason be ineffective and see Sam and Liz put aside their differences, at least for the moment, and band together to save themselves. Both are smart, resourceful girls (except when Jason needs someone to save).
I just wonder about the writers on this show sometimes. Do they they we are incapable of comprehending smart, strong female characters who do not need to be constantly saved?

Have them get into sticky situations? Fine. Just let them figure out how to get themselves out of it without having to be saved by fricking Sonny or Jason.
I like Jason and hate Sonny, but that aside, why are these "mob" characters the only ones allowed to have the occasional victory?

Booooorrrring!

Patrick/Robin - So she's admitted he's the baby daddy. Well that certainly didn't drag out as long or as painfully as I imagined it would. Do you think it has something to do with the writer's strike? Because a lot of these types of secrets have come out and been resolved rather quickly. Well it will be interesting to see how they handle this development. It has some great potential to be a really moving storyline, which means it will only get 1/8th of the screen time that the mob war gets. Oh well, I'll take what I can get I like this storyline.

Another bonus? The skanky and annoying Nurse Leyla seems to have gone off radar lately... maybe she'll be "transferred to County"

Nadine/Nik - I like this storyline too. I wish she would stop referencing her dead relatives, but still cute. Nadine has grown on me. She is cute and I like her spunk. I also like that she has always been kind to Spinelli. Potential, potential, potiental... let's see what the writers can do...

Kristina - Well now we know why she isn't talking again, right? It was a clue. Clever, clever GH. She saw Diego murdered and stopped talking and then she sees him alive again and stops talking again. Bizarre behavior, but at least now I know why they made such a big deal out of it. Maybe Alexis can teach her sign language and this doesn't have to be such a show stopper for her.

Ric - Zzzzzzzzzzzz. Is this even a storyline at all? Marianna is lying to him, but she's got a good heart. Blah. We've only seen this basic storyline about a hundred times over. Remember Liz and Lucky, LAST FRIGGIN YEAR? Geez, GH, allow me to introduce you to someone you seem to have forgotten.

Things were going so well I knew it had to be over soon. And it was over before it began really.

Sonny was almost likeable when he was with Kate, at the beginning.
We saw a softer side, the boy he used to be.
Now, he's back to being the same old abusive bastard that he actually is.
He talks down to Kate the entire time she's trying to explain herself to him. He's rude and abrasive.
I know, I know, fans of Sonny will say that his childhood, blah, blah, blah, poor injured Sonny, blah, blah, blah... basically all the excuses Kate's been spouting lately.
But if Kate wrote a Dear Abby letter describing Sonny's behavior, I can tell you, Abby would tell Kate to smarten up. You are dating a controlling jerk who has a pattern of abusive behavior.

Seriously, I can't stand Sonny. If he's not trashing Kate, or at the other end of the abusive pattern apologizing and showering her with love and saying all the right things, he's snapping at Jason.
So, in the past, Jason has been his best friend and right-hand man. After neglecting the business for months to pursue Kate, Sonny just marches back in and orders Jason around and to kill people with no proof of their guilt. Are we supposed to like Sonny or not? The show wants to portray him as a hero, but guess what, in my world people don't randomly order the deaths of people, especially people who don't happen to be guilty.

Why is Sonny so fixated on Johnny (who I LOVE by the way... hot, hot, hot)? Even though he knows Trevor is pulling the strings, even though he knows that Claudia has been taking charge of things lately, he insists on pulling a gun on Johnny on a regular basis. Part of me just wishes that one of the many people who hate Sonny (Trevor, Rick, Diego.... etc.) would just off Sonny. It would be dramatic and then maybe we could just get rid of this mob shit once and for all.

I watch soaps for drama and romance, but not for the godfather. I watch it in spite of all the mob crap. If it went away I would be thrilled.

Off the subject of the annoying character of Sonny....

I know Carly is preggo, but why did Jax need to apologize for their fight today? Carly puts Jason first before all her other relationships. Why should Jax accept that? He's hot, smart, rich and successful,  and yet he's supposed to play second banana for the rest of his life? That's ridiculous. You can love a friend and not put them ahead of your husband. Carly needs to get a grip. Jax deserves better.

The direction of the Lulu-Johnny-Logan triangle concerns me.
Thus far, I have loved Lulu. I have loved her since she started on the show.
I love Johnny, he's shown himself to be good, kind man who only wants the best for Lulu... so of course who know if this means that he will end up with the girl? GH doesn't like it's characters to treat women with respect.

I was initally a fan of Logan. I thought he would make a good match for Lulu, but then he slept with Maxie and I was done with him. There was no good reason for him to sleep with her. He rationalized that he "had to", but he didn't. Yes, Maxie could have told Lulu about their arrangement, but since Lulu had no faith in Maxie, since Logan could honestly say that he hadn't done anything, he would have been fine. But instead he slept with her on such a flimsy excuse, that he had to really want to. Even after Logan was a "changed man" he still is controlling and ass hat-ish to Lulu. He even continues to be mean to Spinelli. So, I turned away from Logan.
Now, Lulu and Johnny have slept together. I love them together. I know it's a soap so no character has an easy path to coupledom, but is Lulu really going to go back and forth between them now? I love her, but she won't sleep with both of them will she? I hope not. Johnny doesn't deserve that. He's damaged, but underneath he seems to have a really sweet soul.

I'm excited Diego is back. Maybe he'll actually kill Sam. That would be fun. I do like Sam with Lucky. When she's not attacking Liz, I don't hate Sam.
On the note of Diego being back... why would he kill Georgie? He had a crush on Georgie. Georgie liked Diego and always gave him the benefit of the doubt. And why Emily? or Leticia?
Sam I understand, she did kill him.
Alexis I understand, mother of the one who killed him and also killed his uncle.

Maxie I understand, she was never very nice to Diego after the whole photo thing.

With Diego having been the villian in two big mysteries... who is taking risque photos of girls and who is strangling girls... he is one sick puppy!

Speaking of sick puppies, I really want to love Jerry Jax. He is so adorable. So good looking. But, I don't want him to use Alexis. Can't he just do his deals somewhere else and find a soft spot for our tough as nails attorney? Redeem him already!

February was sad for GH. Last Feb, we had the metro court crisis (seems like it was a million years ago) and it was exciting tv. I was riveted. This year we have.... nothing. Just business as usual. Boo.
I guess we can't have a train wreck or hotel crisis every sweeps month, but instead we have hypocritical PSAs (GH against gun violence, really? no. really?) and boring PSAs that they later forget about, didn't Ephiphany have a heart attack? Or is she just taking a vacation?

Ok, I feel as though I've vented a little bit. I don't know anybody in real life who watches this show, so sometimes the stuff I think has to go somewhere so I can stop thinking about it.

Hmm, some thought on GH lately...

Logan/Lulu/Johnny - I'm totally over Logan. I thought he was cute and might be a good match for Lulu for a while, but then he slept with Maxie and ruined it. I just can't root for them to be together now. I thought he was just playing Maxie before, but if he was serious, even if he did fall for Lulu that doesn't excuse his behavior. So, if he hadn't fallen for Lulu then it would be okay to use someone for sex? Johnny on the other hand is totally growing on me. He is adorable. He's protective of Lulu and that is so sweet. I hope they get Johnny and Lulu together at some point.

Robin/Patrick - Shut up Patrick. Listen, you're hot. Super-hot. But, shut up. Where does he get off telling Robin she shouldn't have a baby? Where does he get off being preachy about what she should do post-break up? Certainly didn't stop him from hopping in to bed with slutty Layla. Bleh. And yet Robin managed to take the high road about that... well mostly anyway. Patrick is really pissing me off with the whole Robin shouldn't have a baby thing. He's such an arrogant ass to just assume he knows what she wants and feels. I used to like him, but they'd better leave this story in the dust soon because he's really annoying me.

Sonny/Kate- Still love them together. The mob stuff is kind of boring though, except it introduced the adorable Johnny Z onto the scene. Stuff with Nicholas is kind of boring too... blackouts, violence, blah, blah, blah.

Lucky continues to be an ass, what a surprise. I get where he's coming from, but it annoys me that he acts like it's reasonable to try to take Jake away from Liz as a "tactic" and I cannot believe that Alexis is participating in this after what Rick did to her. I don't like this story line... wrap up the divorce already and lets have some more Jason/Liz scenes.
